The Erb & Good Family Funeral Home provides a variety of support groups in the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons. Our groups are closed sessions with a beginning and end date. They are facilitated by a bereavement counsellor. These support groups are open to anyone in the community who feels it may be helpful in working through their grief process. There is no fee to attend our groups, however, registration is required.
These 8 week closed groups are for adults who are grieving the death of a parent, a spouse, a sibling, a friend or partner. Support and education are the empowering themes for these groups.
This 9 week closed group is specifically designed for individuals who are facing the unique challenge of traumatic grief after a family member or friend has died by suicide.
This 6 week group is for kids/teens who are grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. We use art, music, stories and co-operative activities as tools to incorporate and mange feelings.
Our groups are open to all regardless of ethnicity, gender or culture. These are small groups of 8 to 12 individuals, and the composition is dependent on enrolment.
If you feel these support groups could be helpful to you, a friend, or someone in your family, or if you would like a list of other grief support groups that meet in Waterloo Region, please call Dena at People Needing People, at 519.745.2195 or email for more information.
