Through a joint partnership between the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, the KW Chamber of Commerce, The Waterloo County School Boards as well as the Evergreen Learning Grounds Program, trees will be planted and shaded areas developed in local school grounds to provide shade for learning and playing. The Trees for Learning Program serves as a way of Celebrating the Past with a Commitment to the Future. These trees are planted on behalf of the families we serve in memory of their loved ones.
While the tree and naturalized area bears no visible identification, everyone can take great pride in knowing that they are helping contribute to a major local environmental initiative. The species and locations of the trees are determined by the school's students and staff as well as experts from the Trees for Learning Program. More than just a fitting tribute, this program provides for trees that shelter our children from harmful elements such as sun and wind, reduce water and wind erosion and contribute to the purity of the air we breathe. Their existence brings comfort and hope. They will ensure that generations to come will know the beauty of a green planet. What better legacy to leave?
