Obituary of Patrick James Bourke

Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Innisfree hospice on Tuesday Feb 27, 2024, at age 72.

Patrick was a beloved father to Shawna (Matthew Heimpel) and Bryan (Jenevieve Portabes) and papa to Jackson, Aubrey Bourke, and Abbey Heimpel. He will be missed by his dog Bailie. Patrick will be remembered by his sisters Brenda, Christine, Laura and Barbara, his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents John Sr. and Dorothy Bourke, his two sisters Deborah, Mary, and brother John Jr.

Patrick enjoyed his 20 plus years on the open road driving truck, reading and walking Bailie. He was an involved papa retiring to spend more time with his grandchildren. He was at every recital, concert and event. He was always there to offer help to family and friends, never asking for anything in return.

A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Innisfree Hospice and Grand River Hospital for the compassion and care they showed Patrick.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday March 9, 2024 from 11 a.m.- 12:45 p.m.  The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 1 p.m. Cremation will have taken place, and a private family interment will be held at a later date.
